Testimonials

“This is a great place if you are looking for personalized guiding in your practice. Whether you are new to ashtanga yoga or have been practicing for years, Claire – the resident teacher – knows what you need and has eye for detail when she guides you in your practice. I never – despite my 12 years of practice – experienced such a dedicated teacher who genuinely wants you to ‘understand’ and feel the postures.”

“Amazing yoga school with a very personal approach.
Both the resident teacher and the guest teachers have lots of experience and teach in a very down-to-earth way (none of the showiness that you sometimes get in Ashtanga).
The students who practice here make you feel welcome and give you a true sense of community.”

Eva

Claire is a devoted, knowledgeable and loving teacher. She doesn’t just teach yoga, she lives it. Very very inspiring. Her classes are always in a small group with lots of personal attention. Just not comparable to any other classes in Amsterdam and it’s broad surroundings. Can’t recommend Claire’s classes enough!”

Anna

About Claire

I have been exploring yoga, nutrition and a holistic lifestyle for about 20 years and continue to do so.

My time and energy have mainly been directed towards studying and practising Yoga over the last 20 years.
However, my curiosity to understand myself and my environment has allowed me to also study Industrial Design Engineering (MSc), Ayurveda, Nutrition, and I am currently studying Herbalism.

My deep curiosity for Yoga and spirituality has been there since I was a young girl and having explored different ‘styles’ of yoga I cannot consider myself a student of a specific style, but of Yoga as a whole.
Beyond the physical practice, I am very passionate about exploring all the paths of Yoga, including devotional, energetic and meditational practices.

My teaching journey started at university, after completing my first Yoga certification course, I hosted yoga classes for my fellow students. In 2010 I moved to Ecuador and taught yoga in multiple studios in Quito and Cumbaya untill I move back to the Netherlands in 2016. After teaching in various studios in Haarlem and Amsterdam I opened my own yoga school in 2020. Along the way I completed a 3 year Hatha Yoga certification from Centro de Estudios de Yogas Tradicionales (CEYT France/Ecuador) and had the honour to assist multiple teachers in their Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Mysore programs.

What started as an Ashtanga Mysore Program, transformed into a more integral approach to teaching. As beautiful as an Ashtanga Mysore Program might be, it felt limiting to what Yoga entails and what I have to offer as a teacher. I now offer Group Yoga Classes that are still based on Self Practice, however the practices are not limited to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, but also include Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and other practices suited to the students level, needs and capabilities. My classes will always include a seated practice dedicated to either breathing, concentration, sound or stillness. I also offer Private Yoga Classes, Workshops, Retreats and Yogic Counseling

I feel extremely blessed with the teachers that I have met along the way, and was lucky to study with some of them over consistant, longer periods of time. I consider myself mainly a Yoga student and aside from the teachers whom inspire me to learn from, I continue to practice under the guidance of my diksha guru Gilles Redard and his wife Valerie every year. I dedicate my classes and teachings to them and hope to inspire my students a fraction of how they have inspired and taught me.

My focus and priority lie in continuously exploring the depths of mySelf and deepening my practice to be able to help and guide others from a place of personal experience and knowledge.

Through the years, I have come to realize that food is one of our direct and most intimate connections with nature. This lead me to study Ayurveda and different ‘western’ nutrition & food cultures. I have taught vegan and vegetarian cooking classes & workshops for many years and I can spend hours in the kitchen. I am currently deepening my knowledge of plants and herbs.

I love meeting new people and students and will try to help, guide or just accompany you in any way I can.

My Yoga Offerings

Hatha Yoga

I incorporate Hatha Yoga techniques in my classes because I consider these to be the basis needed for a sustainable yoga practice. Hatha Yoga techniques further allow you to deepen your understanding of the aspects of Yoga beyond Asana.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Whether you are new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga or have been practising for years, I can guide you in what you need and maybe even challenge you to a different approach.

Personalised Yoga

My background in Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda allows me to cater to the different needs of each individual’s yoga practice. Each student is diffent and therefore each student’s practice will differ.

Meditation

Meditation has become my priority as I have experienced its benefits directly. Everyday I feel blessed to have received the teachings from my teachers and I  humbly share these with my own students.

Raja Yoga

My experience with Raja Yoga allows me to pass on techniques that I have learned and applied myself to observe and better understand the nature of my mind. These techniques form the basis of our seated practices.

Yogic Counseling

Yoga is not just a 1 hour practice per day. It is a way of living. Yogic Counseling is an approach where knowlege and applied life experience of Yogic lifestyle is shared in a one on one setting in order to guide and motivate you on your journey.
