About Claire
I have been exploring yoga, nutrition and a holistic lifestyle for about 20 years and continue to do so.
My time and energy have mainly been directed towards studying and practising Yoga over the last 20 years.
However, my curiosity to understand myself and my environment has allowed me to also study Industrial Design Engineering (MSc), Ayurveda, Nutrition, and I am currently studying Herbalism.
My deep curiosity for Yoga and spirituality has been there since I was a young girl and I am a dedicated student of Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
I have had the honour to assist multiple teachers in their Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Mysore programs, and I have completed a 3 year Hatha Yoga education. Beyond the physical practice, I am very passionate about exploring all the paths of Yoga, including devotional, energetic and meditational practices. I have been teaching yoga for more than 15 years.
I am very blessed with the teachers that I have met along the way, and I have had the opportunity to study with some of them over longer periods of time. I consider myself mainly a Yoga student and continue to practice under the guidance of my teachers regularly.
(See below: About Lineage)
My focus and priority lie in continuously exploring the depths of myself and deepening my practice to be able to help and guide others from a place of personal experience and knowledge.
Through the years, I have come to realize that food is one of our direct and most intimate connections with nature. This lead me to study Ayurveda and different ‘western’ nutrition & food cultures. I have taught vegan and vegetarian cooking classes & workshops for many years and I can spend hours in the kitchen. I am currently deepening my knowledge of plants and herbs.
I love meeting new people and students and will try to help, guide or just accompany you in any way I can.

I Specialize In

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Whether you are new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga or have been practising for years, I can guide you in what you need. I can guide you in the Primary Series, or Second Series during Private or Group Classes.

Hatha Yoga
I incorporate Hatha Yoga techniques in my classes because I consider these to be the basis needed for a sustainable yoga practice. Hatha Yoga techniques further allow you to deepen your understanding of the aspects of Yoga beyond Asana.

Personalised Yoga
My background in Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda allows me to cater to the different needs of each individual’s yoga practice. Each student is diffent and therefore each student’s practice will differ.

Meditation
Meditation has become my priority as I have experienced its benefits directly. Everyday I feel blessed to have received the teachings from my teachers and I humbly share these with my own students.

Raja Yoga
My experience with Raja Yoga allows me to pass on techniques that I have learned and applied myself to observe and better understand the nature of my mind. These techniques form the basis of our seated practices.

Vegetarian Nutrition
What you eat directly influences your mind and body. Having studied various food cultures and the Indian Life Science Ayurveda, I share my experience and knowledge with great pleasure during Private Cooking Classes.

“This is a great place if you are looking for personalized guiding in your practice. Whether you are new to ashtanga yoga or have been practicing for years, Claire – the resident teacher – knows what you need and has eye for detail when she guides you in your practice. I never – despite my 12 years of practice – experienced such a dedicated teacher who genuinely wants you to ‘understand’ and feel the postures.”
“Amazing yoga school with a very personal approach.
Both the resident teacher and the guest teachers have lots of experience and teach in a very down-to-earth way (none of the showiness that you sometimes get in Ashtanga).
The students who practice here make you feel welcome and give you a true sense of community.”
“Claire is a devoted, knowledgeable and loving teacher. She doesn’t just teach yoga, she lives it. Very very inspiring. Her classes are always in a small group with lots of personal attention. Just not comparable to any other classes in Amsterdam and it’s broad surroundings. Can’t recommend Claire’s classes enough!”
